Academic Affairs Office Staff Attend the Digital Intelligence Empowering Innovation in University Education and Teaching Development Forum On March 21-22, 2025, the 2025 Digital Intelligence Empowering Innovation in University Education and Teaching Development Forum was held at the International Academic Exchange Center of Sun Yat-sen University (Shenzhen Campus). This forum was jointly organized by the Academic Affairs Department of Sun Yat-sen University and Tongfang CNKI, attracting over 300 leaders, experts, and academic affairs managers from universities in Beijing, Shanghai, Harbin, Macau, and other places. They gathered to discuss how to promote the deep integration and application of educational digitalization in university teaching processes, and to explore the correct paths for using digital intelligence in the education field. Ms. Guo Yunyun from the Academic Affairs Office of our school attended the forum for learning. At the opening ceremony, Wen Guanghao, Executive Deputy Director of the Sun Yat-sen University Shenzhen Campus Management Committee, and Yang Xiaohui, Deputy General Manager of Tongfang CNKI, delivered opening speeches. The forum consisted of three parts: keynote reports, roundtable discussions, and group exchanges. During the forum, Chen Xingping, Director of the Academic Affairs Department of Sun Yat-sen University, gave a keynote speech on The Digital Transformation of Higher Education – From Digital Challenges to Digital Aesthetic Education. He shared series of measures taken by his university from digital existence of all things, networking interconnection of all things, intelligent human-computer interaction, to digital intellectualization and intelligent digitalization. He proposed that student cultivation in the new era should return to digital aesthetic education, enhancing students' digital discernment, digital perception, and digital critical ability. Peng Zhangyou, Executive Vice Minister of the Academic Affairs Department of Shanghai University, delivered a keynote speech titled Facing AI Development: Scenario Construction and Practice of New Teaching Forms. Liu Hongchen, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office of Harbin Institute of Technology, shared Exploration and Practice of the Undergraduate Four-Year Comprehensive Scientific Research Training Model. The Vice Minister of the Academic Affairs Department of Peking University shared experiences regarding the application guidelines for AI in undergraduate teaching at Peking University.
The roundtable forums and group discussions also included interactive sessions. Participating experts and scholars had heated discussions on the challenges and coping strategies of applying AI in the innovative development of university education and teaching. They also shared and exchanged in detail the reform practices and measures in the management of undergraduate thesis (design) in universities. Some experts pointed out that the wave of digital intelligence is reshaping the education ecosystem at an unprecedented speed. Technological iteration is driving the reconstruction of educational concepts. Establishing AI application norms and guidelines in the process of university talent cultivation is necessary and urgent to balance academic integrity with the full embrace of AI.
After the forum, the group collectively visited the intelligent construction of the School of Intelligent Engineering, the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and the library at Sun Yat-sen University. The successful hosting of the Digital Intelligence Empowering Innovation in University Education and Teaching Development Seminar built a platform for exchange and cooperation between universities and enterprises, and provided a good learning opportunity for educational and teaching management personnel. The staff from our school's Academic Affairs Office gained knowledge about innovative measures in academic affairs management at other institutions, broadened their horizons through this attendance, which will help them better serve the reform and innovation of talent cultivation and the digital transformation of education and teaching in the school.
