Faculty Members from Our School Attend the 6th Economic Geography Outstanding Young Scholars Development Forum
From July 25th to 27th, the 6th Economic Geography Outstanding Young Scholars Development Forum, hosted by the Economic Geography Journal and organized by the School of Geographical Sciences of Northeast Normal University, was successfully held in Changchun, Jilin Province. Under the theme Innovation in Economic Geography and the Responsibility of Young Scholars, the forum aimed to deepen academic interaction between the Economic Geography journal and young scholars. It facilitated in-depth discussions on cutting-edge research topics, innovative ideas, and advanced methodologies in economic geography, establishing an open and efficient platform for academic exchange to promote the synergistic development of the journal and young scholars.The forum brought together over 200 experts and scholars from renowned domestic universities such as Renmin University of China, Nanjing University, Zhejiang University, Central University of Finance and Economics, Sun Yat-sen University, Ocean University of China, Southeast University, East China Normal University, Hohai University, Northeast Normal University, Capital University of Economics and Business, and Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics. Participants also included representatives from research institutions like the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research (CAS), Northeast Institute of Geography and Agroecology (CAS), Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limnology (CAS), and Pacific Geographical Institute, Far Eastern Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences. Attendees collectively explored the latest research advances and development trends in the field of economic geography. Professor Zhang Liguo and Associate Professor Hu Mianhao from our school attended this academic event. 
The forum consisted of an opening ceremony, plenary invited reports, academic presentations by young editorial committee members, journal-scholar exchange seminars, interactive meetings between the journal and authors, and 11 themed parallel sessions. 
During the opening ceremony on the morning of July 26th, a flag-handover ceremony was specially arranged for the 7th Economic Geography Outstanding Young Scholars Development Forum. Our school, as the designated organizer of the next forum, was represented by Dean Professor Zhang Liguo, who accepted the flag. He detailed the distinctive features of our school's discipline construction and development plans, and formally extended an academic invitation, sincerely welcoming colleagues to Nanchang in 2026 for academic exchange and cooperation.
