On the morning of September 25, Yuan Honglin, Member of the University Party Committee Standing Committee and Vice President, visited the School for investigation and guidance. The investigation focused on core issues such as how the School can accurately define its development positioning during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, further advance the transformation and upgrading of its disciplines and majors, and comprehensively strengthen the high-quality development of its talent team, teaching, and scientific research.
Yuan Honglin affirmed the School's achievements in the first half of 2025 and put forward requirements for its next development phase. He emphasized that the School should base itself on long-term development, strengthen its intrinsic quality, and complete the formulation of the 15th Five-Year Plan with high quality. This involves continuously consolidating the development foundation by enhancing management efficiency, optimizing the dynamic adjustment mechanism for disciplines and majors, and fortifying the ideological defense line for both faculty and students. He particularly stressed that in terms of faculty development, efforts should be made to strengthen the cultivation of young teachers, encouraging and supporting them to actively apply for national-level research projects. He also called for advancing organized research planning and systematic talent recruitment and cultivation programs, focusing on major scientific issues and national strategic needs to consolidate research directions, enhance teamwork capabilities, and strive to produce more landmark achievements. Dean Zhang Liguo summarized the School's work progress in the first half of 2025, highlighting achievements in teaching reform, scientific research, international cooperation, and talent introduction and cultivation, while also outlining key tasks for the future. He stated that the School would methodically advance core tasks such as the formulation of the 15th Five-Year Plan, preparations for the upcoming sixth round of disciplinary assessment, and applications for national-level projects in 2026. These efforts aim to continuously improve internal governance and lay a solid foundation for sustainable development. Party Committee Secretary Zou Chunfa summarized the School's Party construction work for the first half of the year, noting positive progress in strengthening the foundation of Party building, deepening thematic studies, enhancing the education and management of Party branches, and promoting the development of young faculty members as Party members. Regarding the fundamental task of fostering virtue and nurturing talents, the School has continued to strengthen ideological security and the construction of professional ethics among teachers, integrally promoting the Study-Check-Reform mechanism, effectively managing graduate employment, and furthering the development of a safe campus, thereby creating a stable and orderly educational environment. All faculty and staff will actively contribute to the development of the University and the School, with the important goal of establishing a National Model Party Branch and promoting the deep integration of Party construction with the School's development.
